Career Highlights

Mark is a strong, athletic, and versatile forward. His size and strength make him a weapon at both the small forward and power forward positions. Mark has good size for the small forward position and is very aggressive offensively, using his length and body to go inside against smaller players. At the same time he can step out and knock down the NBA three point shot. Mark possesses a good midrange game and has polished moves going to the basket. When Mark plays the PF position he possesses the quickness to blow by his opponent and has the strength to post up his opponent as well. Mark is a natural scorer who can score from anywhere on the court, but he also is a solid rebounder and good defender. Mark is not scared to do the dirty work on the defensive end and takes pride on being a defensive stopper.

In his senior season at Hartford, Mark was named co-captain and also was named to the All-AEC 2nd team. He averaged 13ppg, 6rpg, 2apg, 1.2spg, and 51%FG. In his junior season he averaged 15ppg, 6rpg, 2apg, and 56%FG. In both his junior and sophomore seasons Mark was named to the All-AEC 1st Team. As a freshman Nwakamma was named to the AEC All-Rookie Team.

As a senior in 2010-11 at Leander HS, Nwakamma averaged 20ppg and 10rpg. He was tabbed the District 16-5A Defensive Player of the Year as a senior and selected to the all-region first team.


Mark was born on April 1, 1993 in Evanston, Ill. He will receive his degree in Computer Information Systems. He is the son of Mark and Blessing Nwakamma. He has three brothers. Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. His favorite basketball player is Hakeem Olajuwon.
